Turamisu Recipe |
5 shots espresso
6 eggs
3 tablespoons sugar
16 ounce (450g) Mascarpone
4 100g (3 ounce) packs lady fingers
2 table spoons orange liqueur
1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa
Directions
Separate egg whites and egg yolks. Whip egg whites. Whip egg yolks and sugar in a separate bowl until pale and frothy. Add mascarpone cheese to egg yolk and sugar mixture. Whip cheese into mixture. I prefer whipping cheese by hand. Combine egg whites with egg yolk, sugar and mascarpone mixture.
Your espresso shouldn’t be hot, room temperature is fine. Add liqueur to espresso. Dip lady finger cookies into espresso. Arrange them on the bottom of a glass dish. Cover lady fingers with egg and mascarpone mixture. Repeat the process with two more layers of lady fingers and egg mascarpone mixture.
Let the tiramisu sit in the fridge for at least 4-6 hours. This lets the layers soak into each other. Dust the top with cocoa powder.
Then you can cut and enjoy it.
